| Although it's a rare occurrence, in the case of pregnancy due to rape or incest, I believe that a woman should be offered the option of a "morning after pill". The taking of an innocent life cannot be justified by the sins of the parent. Studies show that counseling often leads victims of sexual crimes to adoption as opposed to abortion and the valuing of the life inside of them as opposed to seeing no value in the life. | |||

| In terms of Medicaid recipients, I would like to see fewer people in need of the benefits to achieve the reduction in benefits. This does not mean that I would like to see Medicaid recipients healthcare choices diminished. Putting people back to work and creating economic prosperity will decrease the number of those in need. I would also like to see public sector union power diminished and a reform of the pension and salary package for state employees. | |||

| I support decriminalization of marijuana only to the extent that we can, as a society, hold users accountable for their actions. No taxpayer dollars should be spent on rehabilitating users or supporting those users. That responsibility should fall to non-profit outreach groups not the taxpayers. Drug use is not a disorder, it's a choice and like alcohol use, that choice should come with responsibilities. | |||

| Spending more money to re-train workers for jobs that don't exist is fruitless. We must create jobs first, then address our job training programs and their funding. Infrastructure improvements that must be done are one thing but to create new and interesting projects for the express purpose of creating work is counter productive and only prolongs the inevitable. Private lenders should work directly with borrowers to ensure home sustainability but it is not government's place to act fiscally. Property owners have a right to charge whatever they like for their land but prudence dictates modesty lest everyone move out. | |||

In the Christina School District, we spend $16,000 per child each year and only 70% of them graduate. Parents should have the right to choose where there child attends school and the money we spend on that student should follow the child. Charter schools are more effective and efficient in educating our children than traditional public schools and should be a model for all new school development. Illegal immigrants are by definition committing a crime and should not get special benefits. | |||

| Choice, competition and tort reform are essential components to making health insurance more affordable and accessible to every Delawarean. This cannot be achieved by government fiat. I support the decriminalization of marijuana possession but until the medical benefits and risks are appropriately weighed and we can ensure that no tax dollars are spent to purchase the drug or rehabilitate addicts, I cannot support legalization efforts even for medicinal purposes. | |||

| Marriage is a union between one man and one woman that has been defined as such for thousands of years. Churches must have the ultimate right to define that sacred union. I do support the right of those who choose alternative lifestyles to grant legal benefits to their partners or whomever they choose. Finally, anti-discrimination laws are unnecessary. Service providers have a right to refuse service based on their own belief system. The market will correct injustices by providing opportunity for those who need a service provided. | |||
| Delaware needs jobs first and foremost. With over 30,000 Delawareans out of work, that MUST be our first priority. We've got to attract businesses and encourage growth by cutting our corporate tax rate, eliminating the gross receipts tax and cutting investment taxes. Our schools must also be reformed to ensure that each of our children receives the best possible education. We must put more dollars into the classroom by cutting bureaucracy and giving parents more choice through a voucher system. Finally, we must clean up Delaware's corrupt legislature by stopping double dipping and holding officials accountable for their misdeeds. |
